The War of 1812 was an armed conflict between the United States and Great Britain, 1812 to 1815.

Anthony Smith
     
Anthony was a Orderly Sergeant in the company commanded by Major Thomas Clark. He was drafted at Kingston in January, 1814 and was forloughed at Fort Armstrong, Georgia because of illness. Anthony was honorably discharged in May, 1814 at Kingston, Tennessee because of the illness he contracted while in the service.

Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 02 April 1865 at the age of 18 Enlisted in Company D, 193rd Infantry Regiment New York on 02 April 1865. Mustered out Company D, 193rd Infantry Regiment New York on 18 January 1866 in Harper's Ferry, WV. Brother to James Henry Garahan, Peter Garahan and John Garahan.

Staff Sergeant U.S.Army Air Force 455th Bomber Squadron 323rd Bomber Group Air Medal with 11 Gold Stars. Killed in a plane crash into a mountain in Scotland on his flight home from France after 85 missions over Germany (The plane was believed to be sabotaged). All crew were killed. Buried in Cambridge, England (Monument).
